Fanime 2009

Me and my three other friends (Eros, Chris, Matthew) went to one of the largest anime conventions held in North California. We were planning to stay there for the whole weekend but then plans changed. We didn't have any hotel and we couldn't share one. It doesn't really matter because one day felt like forever.

On Friday, we met in Eros' house because his parents were going to drop us to the San Jose convention. We had to sleep over because we were leaving early. We played some Xbox 360, ate some pizza and we just chilled until we had to leave. We only got 2 hours of sleep before leaving to Fanime at 6AM. When we got there, there were some people already lining up. We were lucky that not much people were there. I just loved the people in Fanime. I had a feeling that I belonged there because everybody was nice and treated others like they were friends and knew each other.

We got to meet a lot of cosplayers and took pictures with them. Fanime was VERY TIRING due to the fact that we only had 2 hours of sleep. At times we would just sit down and just rest for a bit. We even took a 10-20 minute nap in one of their theaters showing "Ah! My Goddess!" There was a lot of funny things that happened in Fanime but the funniest would have to be in the line for the Maid Cafe. For some reason, the Maid Cafe didn't open on time. The maids came out and started to apologize to the people who were lining up. All of a sudden, some dude with glasses shouted "WHHHYYYYYY?!" It was very funny since most of us thought that he was joking. He just left and made a scene. Maid Cafe was meehhh. It was alright but I was expecting MORE. BUT whatever, I guess I could only find the good Maid Cafes in Japan.

We ended up staying in Fanime from 8AM to around 9:30PM. We were all dead tired but it was worth it. I also bought a really cool Gurren Lagann poster and it looks awesome. Next year, hopefully, we would stay for the weekend with a hotel.
